NEWS: John Terry Sacked As England Captain

After a week of controversy surrounding John Terry's future, we can reveal that Terry has been stripped of his duties as England captain.

Following the sex scandal that involved his England teammate Wayne Bridge's ex girlfriend, the FA gave Fabio Capello the last word on the matter.

“After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from John Terry.

“As a captain with the team, John Terry has displayed extremely positive behaviour.

"However, I have to take into account other considerations and what is best for all of the England squad.

“What is best for all of the England team has inspired my choice.“John Terry was notified first.

Rio Ferdinand has been named as his successor but not to the delight of many England fans as the Manchester United defender hasnt been in good form of late.

What are your thoughts, was Capello right to drop Terry as captain? Is Rio the man to take England forward?
