Alicia Keys has urged her fellow celeb pals to quit social media sites Facebook and Twitter (for a period of time) to help raise money for Alicia's charity Keep A Child Alive for their Digital Life Sacrifice campaign.

So far Kim Kardashian, Usher, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia's husband Swizz Beatz, Khloe Kardashian, Ryan Seacrest, Serena Williams and Janelle Monåe have signed up for the campaign. These celebs will quit the social media sites from Deceber 1st, World AIDS Day, and they wont return until they raise $1m for the charity.

ALBUM REVIEW: Black Eyed Peas- 'The Beginning'

The BEPs return with The Beginning which follows their last album, E.N.D.

The one word I'll use to describe the new album is FUNK. As much as you may not like to admit it,  BEPs make feel good, party music.

Their lead single 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' which samples Dirty Dancings' 'Time Of my Life' by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, sounds very corny on paper, but works perfectly on the techno remixed beat.

Will.I.am and Fergie handle a majority of the vocal work as usual, and with the samples of Slick Rick's 'Children's Story', Barrinton Levy's 'Here I Come' and Luther Vandross' 'Shine' thrown in it just adds to the good vibes.

Stand out songs- The Time (Dirty Bit), Light Up The Night, XOXOXO (Hugs And Kisses), Don't Stop The Party, and Fashion Beats (make sure you listen to Fergie's sexy French verse).

It's only towards the end of the album where the tempo gets a bit slower that you may begin to slightly lose interest, but by then the Peas have done enough to prove why there will always be room for them in the industry.

I give The Beginning 3.5 out of 5.

ALBUM REVIEW: Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Just before the end of the year Kanye West returns with an album that could bully it’s way in to the top 3 hip hop albums of 2010. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is far from dark, a bit twisted in an evil genius sense and full of fantasy in the form of perfectly complimented lyrics/beats and production.

With all that Mr West has been through since 808’s And Heartbreak, there was no telling what kind of album we would receive, but through the G.O.O.D. Fridays’ releases the signs were G.O.O.D. (pardon the pun).

Through his confidence, talent, conceitedness and to the left thinking Kanye has put out a near flawless 13 track opus which will prove all the naysayers wrong whilst boosting his ever growing ego.

Features on the album include- Nicki Minaj, a much welcomed cameo by Rick Ross on the extended version of 'Devil In A New Dress', Kid Cudi, John Legend, Jay-Z, Pusha T, Bon Iver, Rza, Swizz Beats, Raekwon, and a hilarious Chris Rock on ‘Blame Game’, but they in no way outshine Kanye on his own songs.

The only song I originally had reservations about was ‘All Of The Lights’ with Rihanna, but it has grown on me. I’ll limit my stand out tracks to- ‘Devil In A New Dress’, ‘Hell Of A Life’, ‘Blame Game’ and ‘Lost In The World’.

I didn’t really care for the ‘Runaway’ mini-film/video, but I love the extended album version which, is the same as the one he performed on the MTV VMAs.

If you TRULY love music go and purchase this album.

ALBUM REVIEW: Nicki Minaj- 'Pink Friday'

The wait is finally over, the highly anticipated album from the artist labeled by some as the soon to be 'biggest female rap star ever' has arrived, but does 'Pink Friday' live up to the hype?

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't what I listened to. On first impression the album is a lot calmer than I thought it would be. I was looking forward to the witty flows and crazy English accent but, what I actually got was a very reflective and honest 14 track LP.

'I'm The Best' sets the scene nicely as Nicki talks about her humble start and her musical journey to the present day. Other songs that filled me with hope were; 'Romans Revenge' with Eminem, 'Did It On 'Em', 'Save Me' with its drum & bass sample, 'Moment For Life' w/ Drake, 'Check It Out' with Will.i.am and 'Blazin'' with Kanye West. After that, I pretty much lost interest.

I guess one of the things I could say is that Nicki does prove those who said she was one dimensional wrong with some very open songs about herself and the feelings and emotions she's goes through as a women in the industry.

The other thing I noticed was 'Your Love' is the only single she released to make it on to the album so, where's 'Massive Attack'?

Although it is a good album I don't think I'll be picking it up too often. Hopefully a few remixes surface on a re-release in the coming months. Although she will remain my favourite female MC (for the moment) this one just isn't for me!

I'm gonna have to give this one 2.5 out of 5.

Both Chimpunk and Chris Brown have tweeted that this version is the unfinished version, and Chris has added that he has a very heartfelt verse on the finished track.

The track wasn't scheduled to be released until February 2011, but no doubt that release date has been scrapped and moved forward.

Before T.I. headed off prison he sat down with Vibe Magazine for his last interview before starting his sentence for violating his parole. Check out an excerpt from his cover story where he speaks about his drug habit.

I’ve heard you mention how the good that you’ve done is easily forgotten. Do you feel that you’ve been treated unfairly?

If I place my value in the way humans treat me, then maybe. But they’re human, man―they can’t help themselves. They do that to people they know personally. So how can I expect them to treat me, only knowing me through television? They did that to Jesus. They did that to Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali. They did it to every great person you could possibly think of. When it was all good, they was with them. When things got bad, then they was against them.




But in this case things didn’t “get bad.” It’s something you did.

Let me just say this: [he sits up on the couch] If you look at a guy who came up, no pops in the house, moms on welfare, food stamps; started selling dope when he was 12, 13 years old, came up handling guns, being in shoot-outs; started going to jail when he was 15. In all of this chaos and this mischief and lawlessness, the person who was just in jail for machine guns and silencers turns his life around. And now you want to crucify him ―for what? Three pills. I mean, of course it’s wrong and unacceptable and inexcusable. No problem. But in the grand scheme of things, it’s rather petty. It’s rather petty to hold someone’s feet to the fire for something so small when they have overcame things that were so big. All that could have been going wrong―if I was riding with more guns, or if I had gotten into a shoot-out and killed somebody, then I could see that. But just think about it. I’ve gotten it down to this much.




How did you get a drug habit?

I had a lot of work done to my teeth. Oral surgery, extractions, six, seven, eight root canals. Between January to February. As soon as I got out, I had a lot of stuff done. In the joint, you eat shit that is unhealthy for you. I had fillings that fell out and stuff that had to get dealt with. Of course for the pain they gave me oxycontin and hydrocodone. And, mind you, on October 13, 2007, I had cut off everything―weed, alcohol. Then I get these pills and I start taking them for the pain at first. And then I’m like, Wait―this shit makes me feel good. And it’s legal. After the pain went away, I kept taking it. I had like five, six prescriptions. So I had, like 80 pills. Everybody else might have a drink or smoke a blunt, I took a pain pill. Times when I had 18-, 20-hour days, I’d take a pain pill. And eventually I developed―I guess―the beginning stages of dependence.




Have you talked to Eminem about addiction?

Sure. We got a record together, and we talked a lot. I asked him how he knew he was an addict. Basically if you put yourself in harm’s way... if you risk that, you’ve got to assume that there is something fundamentally wrong with your thought process

Ahead of her debut album being released on Monday, Nicki Minaj went to New York's Hot 97 to speak to the one and only Angie Martinez.

Nicki had some choice words for Lil Kim:
