Rihanna Is Making Mills

It has been claimed that the Bajan princess Rihanna made an estimated £10m last year. The singer is expected to become one of the world's richest popstars following the re-release of her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad. This is in addition to her world tour and Gucci campaign contract.

Riri is definitely making it rain on those bishes.....but not Queen Bey.

I Heard A Rumour........

Social Writer's have been told by quite a reliable source that Bussa Buss is seeing one of Kanye West's ex-girlfriends, Brooke Jasmine.

Brooke, who is best known for her role in the American reality show, Harlem Heights, on BET, working at MTV and dating Mr West before Miss Rose, is making her way up the celebrity social list. She and Busta have been spending quite a lot of time together and they were even featured in a shoot together in Brooklyn sometime last week.......maybe this is a ploy to gain her further celebrity success and to also shut down the rumours that Bussa Buss may be gay??

Keep your eye out for more on these two.....

NEW FLAVA: Fabolous ft Keri Hilson & Ryan Leslie

'Everything, Everyday', Everywhere' is the new single taken from Fabo's new album Loso's Way. With the help of "Miss Keri baby" gracing the track with a catchy hook, not to mention having her swagger on full blast in the video, but producer Ryan Leslie has taken the time off from lurking behind young models, long enough to also feature on the track.

The new single itself has great potential to cause a bit of a stir in the clubs especially as it has a feel good factor for all those swagger conscious individuals, who feel their every move is being watched. However; Like with most of Loso's singles, I always feel it never catapults like it should and still leaves a lot to be desired, with the likes of Weezy, Drake and Wale, all of whom have a new generation of Hip Hop followers, do you think there is still room for Fabo to remain?

Let us know what you think?

Review: ILUVLIVE Presents: Tinie Tempah/Disturbing London Records Showcase

Last night I was fortunate enough to be invited to the ILUVLIVE presents: Tinie Tempah/Disturbing London Records showcase @ Bar Rumba.

Due to some, let's say some 'unfortunate' circumstances with the bars sercurity I missed Mister Who's performance, but was told by quite a few people that he's definitely one to look out for!

The first act I saw was the lovely Vanya Taylor (as well as her back-up singers) and she absolutely blew the crowd away as she sashayed through three tracks which displayed a varied vocal style from high to low pitch which, was very impressive. Speaking to her after her performance she said she hasn't performed for over 6 months, but it definitely did not show.

Second to the stage was elektro/pop/indie All About She. Although I had not heard of the boys before they had quite a following and had the crowd rocking and singing along as they ripped through two of their tracks and hyped the crowd for the main feature of the night.

Last, but definitely not least to the stage was the man who is Tinie in name but not in personality, Tinie Tempah. I think many people may have under-rated him and pigeon-holed him as an artist who only makes songs for the ladies (who were in full attendance) but that changed with the releases of 'Hood Economics: Room 147' and 'Sexy Beast Vol.1' mixtape respectively. I also remember a very memorable freestyle on Kiss FM DJ Logan's show which certainly showed me that Tinie is a true MC.

The first track performed was 'I'm Hot' featuring M.I.A who was replaced by the equally talented Disturbing London Records affiliate Sasha. The second track was off of Tinie's new album 'The DISCovery' which will be out January 2010. Tinie closed the show with smash hit 'Tears' and an acoustic refix version of the song that really put him on the map 'Wifey'.

Tinie's vibrant performance showed why he is fast becoming a festival favourite as he is not afraid to experiment with different sounds whilst staying true to his Hip Hop/Grime roots. It is easy to see his development as an artist and also the influence of having a good team behind him.

All of the artists on the night performed with a live band which only enhanced the show!

Everyone at Disturbing London Records have been working hard for many years to bring through credible UK talent and if last night was anything to go by they have no plans of easing up off of their grind anytime soon...

What Has She Done???

Ok people, I know everyone is trying new do's right now, BUT... Solange done lost her mind!!!!

The pop/RnB singer has decided to to rock a number two, (that's barber talk...), and try and pioneer a new movement.

I guess when your big sis is one of the highest selling and most famous artists in the world you have to do things to get noticed, but this wasn't the route to choose AT ALL!!

Although I have seen worse I'm not sure if this is the right look for her. What do you think???

ALBUM REVIEW: Fabolous - 'Loso's Way'

Although F.A.B.O'S album isn't out until 28/7/09 I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a copy early!

Brooklyn's very own heir to the throne returns with his first long player since 2007's 'From Nothin' To Somethin' , and what a comeback it is. I've always thought Fab has been a little underrated, but he's back to stake his claim as one of the more intelligent street tale story tellers.

Throughout the album there is a heavy R'n'B guest appearence with Keri Hilson, The Dream, Jeremih and Trey Songz all lending their dulcet tones, but do not get it twisted, as Fab stays very true to his street roots.

Lil Wayne guests on 'Salute' where Fab spits-

"I'm the highest title, numero uno, i'm not that lil' pregnant white girl, but... Juno".

When it comes to witty lyrics and metaphors there's not many that are better than Fabolous, although I think the emergence of a certain Canadian rapper/singer/actor may have made some people think about upping their game.

Usually I would list some stand out tracks, but after listening to the album it was quite hard for me to pick as I think you can play the CD without skipping beginning to end.

One for the ladies- 'Make Love' ft. Ne-Yo

For the lyric conscious- 'I Miss My Love'

For the streets- 'There He Go'

I'm glad to see Fab come back with so much vengence at time when music has become a bit stale and repitive. All of his fans will now see why he took over two years to come back!

In a time of instruction dance tracks and one hit wonders galore it's refreshing to know true hip hop is still alive and well!

Make sure you pick up the album which will be in stores on import. Also check out the remix to 'Throw It In The Bag' ft. Drake which is RIDICULOUS!!!

Shout out to my boy L. Beezie on this one.

Did MJ Have A Secret Love Child?

The Sun newspaper is reporting that Michael Jackson had a secret lovechild who is Omer Bhatti, 25. He was one of Michael's dancers for some years now and was even sitting front row with Michael's children, brothers, sisters and parents at his recent memorial.

Although The Sun is not one of the most reputable sources for information, the story does make for interesting reading.

Check it out!

Jay-Z On Westwood

Jay-Z recorded an interview with Tim Westwood for his show this week and took time to address some rumours around Chris Brown and The Games' fascination with him!

I'm glad Jay has decided not to reply to 'The Groupie' aka The Game, someone at his level shouldn't be getting involved with MC's who are trying their best to stay relevant. I take my NY fitted off to Mr. Carter for this interview.

Rachel Christie: First Black Miss England

At last we have a woman of colour as Miss England!!

Londoner Rachel Christie, the niece of shamed athlete Linford Christie, was crowned the first Miss England last night. Christie, 20, who is set to take part in the 2012 Olympics in the heptathlon, told organisers her life long ambition is to win gold at the 2012 Olympics.

Congratulations to Rachel, who's not just a pretty face!! Hopefully this will open the doors for more women of colour in such beauty pageants.

Reebok releases Basquiat collection

Thanks to Reebok, die hearted art fans can expect a little treat this Autumn. As a tribute to the famous 80's artist Jean-Michael Basquiat, trainer fanatics can put a little Avant-garde prep in their step as some of the artist's famous paintings will be featured on Reebok's new collection of trainers.

Rebelling against the old elitist 'look but don't touch' notion, that we are all too familiar with on those boring childhood trips to the museum, Reebok has made the usual expensive collectible art affordable for all to admire and wear. Though Reebok kicks can expect the Basquiat touch state side, keep posted to the Reebok website for information on the official UK release dates.

New Kyla Single

The UK's Kyla is back with another funky house banger!

Many people will know Kyla from her Crazy Cousinz assisted 'Do You Mind' which tore down many a dancefloor over the last year or so. Using the method of 'if it isn't broke don't fix it', she has teamed up with the Cousinz once again for her highly anticipated 2nd single, 'Daydreaming'.

Originally written in september 2008 with Paleface, 'Daydreaming' is being released just in time for the summer parties and holiday's.

'Daydreaming' is a sultry track with a infectious bassline, but does differ from her national chart top 50 hit, 'Do You Mind'. It would have been very easy to release 'just another funky tune' but i personally think it has a more chilled out vibe to it which gets your head bobbing as soon as you hear it. The track is also supported by remixes from UK funky hero Lil Silva, garage legend Sticky, bassline pioneer Burgaboy and dubstep innovator LD.

I think the ladies especially will be diggin' this one. Make sure you support it when it's released on 7.9.09! Check out the vidz below for a snippet of the track and behind the scenes at the making of the 'Daydreaming' video.

Camel Got The Hump

Yesterday Jay Z flew into the UK for a press trip and was meant to have an album listening event last night, for his up-coming album, Blue Print 3, for urban press - that got cancelled yesterday.

SocialWriters have learned that when Jigga flew into London yesterday he was not a happy man. Why you ask? Because attendees of the event were Twittering and Facebooking away letting the whole world know about the event, which Jay wasn't happy about. He ven had some A-star celebrities asking to come to this event, like it was a big party, after thy found out about it on Twitter. The Camel didn't want all the fuss so he cancelled the album listening event.

Do you think Jay was over-reacting by making such a decision?

After all, press were not told to keep this info embargoed.....

Is Gucci Mane in Jail... AGAIN or is it just RUMOURS?

Social Writers just caught word that east Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane has gone back to jail for violation of his parole, after just spending ten months as a free man for the same misdemeanor, but in the space of 20 minutes sources were quick to suggest that the news was all rumours.

This is how Karen Civil is reporting it.

A source in Gucci’s camp let me know that Gucci Mane violated the terms of his probation, by failure to appear and dirty urine. The violation has sent him back to prison. The surce also mentioned, Warner Brothers/Asylum Records is trying to keep it quiet because Gucci going back to jail will hurt the promotion and marketing of Gucci Mane album this year. The fear is that with Gucci going in and TI possibly coming out, the buzz in Atlanta and the support of the label will shift from Gucci to TIP. Hopefully the Warner Brothers/Asylum Records will speak more on the situation.
Although its reported that WarnerBrothers/Asylum records want to keep it quiet, news has reached Twitter with his protege SouljaBoy tweeting "Just woke up to some bullshit... my ni**a Gucci back in jail.. Free Gucci...".

If it's true and Gucci is actually going back to jail it's really going to affect Gucci Mane's marketing and buzz. After coming out of prison back in September 2008 Gucci has featured on many tracks by mainstream artists, Keri Hilson and Mario to name a few, he even managed to get under the skin of fellow south rapper, Young Jeezy who recorded a new diss track for Gucci and his protege OJ The Juiceman.

However the same way the news blew up, people were quick to suggest that it was all rumours. An associate of Gucci's Tweeted that it's all "false info".

As SW get more info, we will let you know!

Tower Hamlets Is A Swine Flu Hotspot!!

Out of the whole of Britain, the east-London borough of Tower Hamlets has the most swine flu cases. More than 184 people out of every 100,000 have required treatment with anti-viral drugs.

The virus is spreading through the capital rapidly.

The Government says that a vaccine will be available from the end of August and children between the ages of three and 16 will be priority.

Ne-Yo Leaves Stage In Tears

The gentleman Ne-Yo left the stage crying at his show at the MEN Arena in Manchester after taking ill.

The RnB singer told fans he had never not finished a show before, but he felt that he could not continue with the show. He was said to be sweating quite a lot during the show and that he was struggling to finish some songs, even though some of his tracks were shortened. This means he may not be able to do the remaining dates of his tour.

Fans has been told that Ne-Yo will perform again at the MEN Arena.

Maybe he has a case of swine flu? It seems to be spreading rapidly at the moment.

Inking up the New Hustle?

A rapper with a tattoo is a familiar sight in hip hop.

Gone are the days when we used to associate tat's with rock stars and bikers, the new age hip hop star is no stranger to getting inked up as rappers all over the world have embraced the culture.

Even Soulja Boy got in on the act, making the front cover of Urban Ink for his tats.

But producer/rapper Swizz Beatz has gone one further and instead of getting more tat's he's taking up the position of, wait tattooist.

Have a look as Swizzy works his magic with the needle on fellow RuffRyder EVE.

Swizzy Tweeted he is "Taking this art thing to a new level".

Lil Wayne recently played the role of tatooist inking up his Young Money artist Tyga, is playing the role of tatooist the next thing for rappers?

1 Day Trailer

Have a look at the trailer for a new UK flick that's set to hit the screens in early September.

Flash (Duffus) wakes up to a phone call from Angel (Watson) announcing that he's being released from prison and wants the 500k he'd left with Flash for safekeeping. Short of the full amount and pushed for time, Flash is forced to to strike a deal with Evil (Duncan) who more than lives up to his name. 1 Day follows Flash's race against the clock as he's pursued by a rival gang, the police, his three irate baby mothers and his granny.

Looks interesting, could this topple the success of Noel Clarke's Kidulthood & Adulthood series?

New RAP Beef: The Game & Jay - Z

Ok, let's be real the Hip Hop world has not been gripped by a real bar for bar, lyric for lyric beef since Nas & Jay - Z way back.

There have been in a few in the likes of Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy and Bow Wow, which had the title of PR stunt all over it and the biggest feud with Kanye and 50 over whose album would sell the most, which in most cases wasn't really a beef but just a competitive rivalry from two major players in the game.

However Hov may be able to have the rap world taking once again as he has been the subject of a tirade of disses coming from Aftermath's The Game.

In the run up to his highly anticipated Blueprint 3 album Hov dropped a freestyle. Watch below and listen carefully.

At the 1:30 mark Hov says.....

"I aint talking bout gossip, I aint talking bout Game (The Game), I ain't talking bout Jimmy (Jim Jones), I ain't talking about Dame (Dame Dash)".

The freestyle sparked a response from Jim Jones who tweeted "Question if someone says in the song I'm not talking bout jimmy is tht not talking bout jimmy lol we r back in business people".

But most offended was The Game, who currently on his world tour had venues in France and Spain screaming "F**k Jay - Z" over Hov's 'Death Of Autotune' beat.

The Game even went one further and recorded a diss track entitled 'I'm So Wavey'.

The Black Wall St. CEO even claimed that Jigga told BET that if they invited Chris Brown to the BET awards then he and Beyonce will pull out of their performances.

Controversial! What do you think, will Jigga come out the closet and and respond or will he not reply as he does with everyone else?

Could You Live Without Cash?

Imagine not using any cash for a year, having no loose change in your pocket, no bank notes in your purse, instead, all you can use is your bank card to live, work and play.

For James this has actually become a reality. After a bet in December 2007, James said that he would live without cash for a year, well without money with the Queen's head on it, and paying for everything by card. Today, a year and a half later, he's still living without cash.

Some of you may say, "That's easy to not use any cash", but it's not as easy as you think....at first! It takes a lot of getting used to. But it's a great way for you to save money, and in this current economic climate that we're living in, saving is the way forward.

If you feel that you can take up the challenge of living without cash, check out the video below for some do's and dont's from James, about being cashless.

C Breezy Dances To 'Thriller'

I like this lil' vid so I thought I would share it with you! Regardless of the things Chris Brown has been through of late you definitely cannot deny his talent.

Whilst Rihanna was in Vegas with Jay-z & co exposing her Tatta's Breezy was with Teyana Taylor at Diddy's All White party. A few days ago she posted on her Twitter that she and Chris were like 'brother & sister' and that she was 'friends with both Chris and RiRi' and he is 'NOT' her man! I actually believe her despite all of the rumours that are flying around about them at the moment!

Enjoy the vid.

MJ's Memorial Service

About 3 million people around the world watched the amazing send off for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, yesterday.

Around 17,500 family, friends, music heads, and fans filled Los Angeles' Staples Centre, where the memorial was televised to the world. As Michael's gold casket lay at the front of the stage, some of the best entertainers performed or said speeches about/for Michael such as Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz, who sang the classic 'I'll Be There', a preganant Jennifer Hudson who also sang, a very truthful and uplifting speech made by family friend Rev. Al Sharpton, plus many more.

Here's some of my favourite highlights from the service, including a very emotional speech made my Michael's daughter, Paris Katherine.

Michael Jackson would have definitely loved his memorial service, they all done him proud.

R.I.P MJ, may you finally be at peace!

Following his SOLD OUT show at The O2 in February 2009 funny man and numerous comedy award winner Eddie Kadi returns with another 'Audience With Eddie Kadi'. For those who have seen him in action before you know what to expect!

As much as we love our cousins from across the water we need to support our very own. If you're one of the lucky few who was able to get a ticket i will see you there , if not you need to be quicker on the draw the next time around as i'm sure there is much much more to come from this guy...

Do You Want To Copy Celebrities?

This post is particularly for the ladies.....

Have you ever spotted a celeb in a magazine or on the road and loved a pair of shoes that they had on, but had no idea which designer brand it was, or where to buy it? Or have you read in a newspaper about a fabulous hotel that a celebrity has stayed in, but you have no idea what the hotel is called?

Well now you no longer have to wonder......introducing www.thenod.com

TheNod is a website that allows people to copy their favourite star's lifestyle. It allows you to see what products and services different celebrities, both male and female use and recommends. TheNod then provides links to where you can purchase these products and services....talk about great!!

The site also includes celebrity profiles and interviews.

This is a great website as it saves you time trying to find that specific pair of Louboutins that you saw Victoria Beckham wear last night to dinner, or those black sunglasses that P Diddy wore whilst lapping up the sun in St Tropez.

MJ's Final Rehearsal

Its just hit me again that he's gone!

Lil' Wayne's European Tour Postponed

Cough medicine drinking Lil' Wayne has announced that he has to postpone his European tour.......

The multi-platinum selling rapper has been told by doctors to rest - no suprise there really. This comes just after fans found out that Drake, who was also meant to be on tour with Weezy and opening act Kid Cudi, wouldn't be taking part in the tour because of his torn Achilles heel.

The tour will be postponed apparently for later in the year, so ticket holders keep hold of your tickets!

It may not be good news that the concert has been postponed, but maybe now with the new dates that are being rescheduled, Drake can perform too!

NEW FLAVA: Drake - 'Best I Ever Had'

This is the first video of Drake's, which has been directed by none other than the Louis Vuitton don, Kanye West.

I am VERY disappointed with this video.....

With all the hype about Drake being the next best thing, this video surely does him no justice at all! I understand that it's a spoof, but I still don't get the video. at all. The video just features pure breasts, which the guys will like looking at, but Drake's got a huge female fan base too, so this video just doesn't cut it at all!

Is this all that Ye is capable of doing? I think he may need to think about this talent of his that he calls being a video director, because this video is wack!

50 Cent - 'Ok, You're Right'

Have a look at Fiddy's 'Ok You're Right' video from his forthcoming album 'Before I Self Destruct'.

Fiddy has had it hard of late in his quest to reinvent himself and make his presence felt in 2009.

His last project, 'Curtis', saw him locked in a feud with Kanye west as to who would sell more records, in which Ye's album outsold 50's by 200,000 units on the first day.

Furthermore many argue that the epic 50 that produced 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' has since been out of touch with hip hop and is more respected as a businessman man as opposed to a musician.

Whatever it is, it looks like Fiddy, has a sure-fire hit with this one as Dr. Dre provides the beat.

What are your thoughts, can 50 turn attention away from the Drakes, Weezy's and Hov's of the game? Or should he just stick to business deals like Vitamin water?

Arsenal Release New 3rd Kit

Arsenal have released a third White kit for the 2009/2010 season.

I'm actually diggin' it (but i would). Let's just hope all us Gooners have a reason to celebrate in it next season!!!

Trey Songz- 'Anticipation' mixtape

Trey Songz returns with a mixtape (which is good enough to be an album) for all the fans who can't wait for his 'Ready' album which will be released early August.

The 13 track CD consists of mainly slow jamz with a few mid-tempo tracks thrown in for good measure. As a big fan of his since his debut 'I Gotta Make It' Lp I personally feel Trey is extremely underrated as a singer and of late rapper too, but it looks like he could be on the verge of releasing the album that could really get him the respect and sales he truly desreves!

I can honestly say there isn't one song i didn't like the sound of. He has definitely set a high expectation mark for his album. My recommendation is 'Scratchin' Me Up'

The mixtape is avalable to download for free via his Twitter page. You'll also find it if you trapse the net hard enough.

Be sure to let us know what you think???

Enjoy.

Pleasure P 'Under' Video

Here is the video for 'Under' which, i feel is the stand-out track off of Pleasure P's 'The Introduction Of Marcus Cooper' LP .

This is a really good video which has some amazing special special effects and also has a cameo from 'Sister Sister' and 'The Game' star Tia Mowry.
