Takers is set to be a blockbuster and I for one can't wait to see it!

Mid Week Charts: Battle Of The Ladies

Cheryl Cole's first solo single 'Fight For This Love' looks set to be #1 on Sunday after selling 134,193 copies after only one day - which will make it the fastest selling single for 2009, currently held by Alexandra Burke's 'Bad Boys'.

This means that Alexandra's single will be pushed to #2 in the charts after being #1 in the charts for a week.

Nothing like a bit of healthy competition between a mentor and their mentee.

At first I disliked 'Fight For This Love', but I must say it has definitely grown on me a lot!

The girls are just adorable and if it wasn't for his track record as serial womanizer, the thought of Mr Combs fathering my own children wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Leona Lewis Slapped At Her Book Signing

So today Leona was in London signing her new autobiography 'Dreams' at a Waterstones like I mentioned yesterday and it has been reported that she was slapped by a man.....

"We were called to Waterstones Piccadilly Circus at 4:35pm to reports of an assault.It appears that a male has slapped a female at the location." said a Scotland Yard representative

I'm sure more details will be released soon.

What I want to know is why?

“Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack this afternoon at her book signing. The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologises to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings.”

Concert Alert: Leona Lewis To Play An Exclusive Gig At London's Hackney Empire

Hackney singer Leona Lewis will play an exclusive gig at the Hackney Empire on Novemeber 2nd, previewing material from her new album, 'Echo'.

The show will be for a limited number of fans only from all over the world. In the UK, iTunes is giving away just 200 tickets for the event on its Facebook page and will make live songs from the night available to coincide with the album's release.

"As a local girl it's an honour to get to perform at the Empire, so close to where I grew up. In the last few years I've travelled the world with work but Hackney is my home and always will be." said Lewis.

This may be the last time Leona will get to perform at the Hackney Empire as their doors are set to close in January 2010.

In other news Leona will be signing her new autobiography 'Dreams' in Waterstones in Piccadilly, 30 Jermyn Street, London. SW1Y 6WW at 3pm tomorrow.

Whitney Houston To Tour The UK in 2010

Whitney Houston announced the first leg of aneagerly anticipated European tour, her first major tour in more than 11years. Her new album 'I Look To You' will be released in the UK on October 19, just one day after a massive appearance on the The X Factor this weekend. It'll be a must see performance!

"This is my first full tour since the My Love Is Your Love tour and I amso excited to be performing for my fans around the world after all this time.I am putting together a great show and cannot wait to perform the songs frommy new album I Look To You along with some of your favourites," said WhitneyHouston.

The Boss returns with this new smooth track of off his Platinum selling 'Deeper Than Rap' album. Although Ricky has opted to put out a version that has the lyrics from 'Lay Back pt. 2' which featured Triple C's (who don't rap in the vid) I think he still has a hit on his hands. I'm loving the backdrop for this video, and the eye candy doesn't hurt either.

Robin Thicke sounds good on the track and i'm diggin' his swag too! (*No Bruno*). Let us know what you think.

Today it has been said that his up-coming gig on November 4th at North London's Alexandra Palace has sold out in 15 seconds!!

President Obama Wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize today for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples,”

Asked why the prize had been awarded to Mr Obama less than a year after he took office, Nobel Committee head Thorbjoern Jagland said: "It was because we would like to support what he is trying to achieve".

"It is a clear signal that we want to advocate the same as he has done," he said.

Jay Sean Gets His First US #1

British RnB singer, Jay Sean, has scored his 1st #1 with his single 'Down' (ft Lil'Wayne), after signing with the American label, Cash Money Records, last year.

Jay Sean has knocked Black Eyed Peas off the top spot which they held for a staggering 14 weeks. No British act has been #1 in the States from since last year June when Coldplay were at #1 for seven days with their song 'Viva La Diva'.

Jay Sean is currently in the UK and made an appearance last night at the first night of Lil' Wayne's concert dates in London.

Sugababes - The Cracks Are Already Showing

Already the new Sugababes are arguing......

According to the Daily Star the band's management want Heidi to stand in the middle for all promo shoots, but Amelle thinks she should be the one to stand in the middle.

Apparently a full-blown argument occurred between Amelle and Heidi.......seems like Keisha wasn't the only bitch in the group after all!

If their fighting over which member should stand in the middle for some promo shots they wont last. Jealousy seems to be a major issue within that band. Sort it out Babes!

Rapper Shyne Released Today

I know you haven't forgotten all about Shyne!

It's been nine years since Shyne went down for a shooting that happened at a Manhatten club that his record label's CEO, Diddy, and Diddy's former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, attended with Shyne.

Even though Shyne's been in prison, that hasn't kept his name from being hot on the streets of America.

He is being released today from prison after serving nine years out of a ten year sentence. There has been a lot of talk about who Shyne is going to sign with even though his future is undecided. However there is talk that due to contractual obligations from his contract with Bad Boy, Shyne may have to release his next album under Diddy's label - even though he cut off ties with Bad Boy years ago. Shyne is not Diddy's biggest fan at all!

This is a developing Bad Boy case....stay tuned for the possible drama of Diddy vs Shyne

Shyne will be released from prison.....but will be deported back to Belize! Can you imagine - the cheek of it. There's people who commit far worse crimes than Shyne and get to stay in New York.

In the charts, north London MC Chipmunk looks set for a definite #1 single this Sunday, with over 35,000 copies of his song 'Oopsy Daisy' been sold already, outselling girl group The Saturday's, who've sold 15,000 so far.

UK 'Urban' music is definitely paving the way this year.

Album Review: Ginuwine- 'A Man's Thoughts'

On October 9th Ginuwine returns with his sixth studio album 'A Man's Thoughts'.

In a career that spans over ten years with platinum and multi-platinum albums as well as BET, American Music & Soul Train award,s Ginuwine's first album in nearly five years does not disappoint.

Since 2000 there have been many turbulent situations from the loss of both of his parents (see 'Two Reasons I Cry' from his 2001 'The Life' LP) and severe depression through all of this Ginuwine could always rely on his music as a form of release and expression.

Gone are the days of a slip 'n slide pony riding performer, A Man's Thoughts is a very grown and sexy album, but is still able to hold it's own in a market which now has the likes of Chris Brown & Trey Songz at it's forefront! From the intro Ginuwine sets the tone for his opus.

With this album Ginuwine says-

”I wanted that growth to be reflected in my music. Forget about singing about a club or some drink, I’m trying to take it back to the blueprint that Marvin Gaye and other soul legends designed.”

 After ten years at Sony Records, Ginuwine is now recording for Kedar Entertainment which is home to artists like Joe Thomas & Chico DeBarge. After recording over forty songs, what you have is an 11 track long player about love, relationships, settling down, promoting self-confidence, being true to your feelings and accepting your responsibilities.

Collaborations are set to a minimum with only Bun B, Brandy, Missy and a much overdue reunion with super prducer and old friend Timbaland. Production is handled by Brian Michael Cox (Day 26, Mariah Carey, Usher, Amerie & Musiq) with writing credit from RL Hugger (of Next) and Johnta Austin.

The lead single 'Last Chance', is a mid-tempo song described as an anthem for 'dudes tired of being players'. Set to a guitar string beat this track is a tale of forgetting your pride and all other outside influences to be with the one you truly love. Good choice for a jump-off single.

'Show Off' could be this years 'ode to all females' no matter their shape, size or colour. It's refreshing to hear someone sing about female’s qualities rather than focusing solely on her assets.

'One Time For Love' is definitely one for the fine slow jam connoisseur! G's velvet tones over a smooth piano driven instrumental showcases his vast vocal range perfectly. If there are any ladies out there who forgot about Ginuwine will definitely be drawn back in by track!

The standout track on A Man's Thoughts for me has to be 'Even When I’m Mad'. Not many artists can really make you feel exactly where they are coming from when they sing. Having known what Ginuwine had been through over the last few years you can tell he has a new appreciation for life and what and whom he has in it.

What I like about this album is that Ginuwine has stayed true to his craft and has not tried to fit in to pop-locking, swagger splashing, finger snapping market, but has come back with honest RnB that will please previous and new listeners. You definitely won't be disappointed with this album.


I give this album 4 out 5.

New Album: Lethal B - 'Go Hard'

Today sees the release of Lethal Bizzle's third album 'Go Hard'.

The album is a rollercoaster ride of Bizzles energetic beats and bars that we've come to know and love with guest appearences from Su-Elise, Mark Ronson, Tawiah and Donaaaaae'O.

Lethal has been putting in a lot of work on the festival circuit this year so look out for songs that will appeal to a wider audience this time around.

Concert Alert: Jay-Z at Alexandra Palace

HOV will be back in London again in the next few weeks to do another concert - this time it'll take place at Alexandra Palace in Wood Green, London, November 4th.

For those of you who missed a chance of seeing Jay perform at his sold-put concert at the Roundhouse recently, make sure you purchase your tickets for this concert quickly!

The Live Nation pre-sale tickets go on sale 8th October at 9am. General tickets go on sale October 9th at 9am. No doubt it'll be pandemonium to get some of these tickets.

I wonder if he'll have any supporting acts this time round?

Glastobury 2010 Sells Out in 24 Hours

Tickets for next year's Glastobury festival have already sold out even though the festival is nine months away!

Next year will be the 40th anniversary of the Glastonbury festival and there have been rumours that headlining acts such as U2, Radiohead and even Beyonce will perform.

Tickets for next year's event cost £185, an increase of £10 on this year. However, it was possible to secure tickets with a £50 deposit, with the full payment not due until 28 February 2010.

Kanye West and Lady GaGa tour cancelled

Social writers has just caught wind that the highly anticipated 'Fame Kills' tour with Kanye West and Lady GaGa has been cancelled. Just days after tickets had gone on sale, Live Nation announced the disappointing news on Thursday failing to offer any explanation.

Fortunately, refunds are available for the few who bought tickets for the show, though I'm sure the sight of Gaga gyrating on West is an irreplaceable image that will have to be left up to the imagination. The Grammy award winning rapper and producer has recently been under fire for his drunkard behaviour last month when he hijacked the award winning moment of Taylor Swifts at the MTV Music Awards Ceremony.

West made a "heartfelt" apology days after the embarrassing act on the "Jay Leno show" and there has since been speculation that the emotionally troubled rapper could be spending some much needed time in rehab.

Lets hope Kanye will take this time to disappear out of the limelight, long enough to get himself together, as for GaGa...you might want to put the leotards up for a minute.

The video for Jay-Z's third single, 'Empire State of Mind', off his #1 album 'BluePrint 3', featuring Miss Keys, has been filmed around New York's Tribeca area, Ground Zero and Broadway, and most likely Brooklyn too.

The video is directed by one of the best directors, Hype Williams. I really hope he does this video justice, as of lately I think his videos have not been great at all!
