Its just been announced that Russia has won the race to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
After a 40 minute delay it was finally revealed that Russia would host the worldwide competition, much to the shock and dismay from many bookmakers and British press that widely regarded the English bid was the strongest, despite the untimely airing of BBC Panorama documentary exposing FIFA delegates of alleged bribery cases.
It will be the first time Russia will host a World cup.
