The X Factor Effect
For those of you that watch the X Factor, I'm sure you've realised the amount of #1's and great record sales that guest performers have received after their performance on X Factor.
There is obviously a correlation between record sales and X Factor performances, which is why most music acts are jumping at the chance to promote their new album or single on the show by performing.
Music acts such as last years' X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, last years' X Factor runners up JLS, and the Black Eyed Peas have all scored #1 singles after their X Factor performances.
Britain's Got Talent's runner up Susan Boyle is also heading towards the #1 spot as debut album, 'I Dreamed A Dream', after selling nearly 150,000 copies on its first day of release. It's estimated her album will be the biggest selling album of the year!
Rihanna is performing on the X Factor next week Sunday, and as sales for her new album, 'Rated R', are pretty low, her X Factor performance of her new single 'Russian Roulette' may boost her sales.
