NEWS: Lil Kim Taken Off Of Monica's New Single

Monica is said to be 'beyond hurt' after hearing that Lil' Kim's verse on her new single, 'Anything (To Find You)'.

The single samples the Notorious B.I.G and so needed to be cleared by his mother, Ms. Wallace, who is in control of the Biggie Estate.

Unfortunately, clearance was not given to Kim's use of 'Who Shot Ya' that appears in her verse, resulting in the entire verse being removed from the track.

Monica took to her twitter to publicly address the issue.

"I am just finding out what has happened to my single and myself & Missy are beyond hurt that @LilKim was removed. She’s our friend, a legend & @LilKim will get the respect she deserves at all cost. The clearance was revoked & I’m fighting to get it reinstated by the Biggie Estate."

"We respect all parties involved & were gonna do WHATEVER to keep the song as is because @lilKim the bizness on the record. I am as thorough as they come and I LOVE @LilKim bottom line is Ms Wallace has the final say and she said No. If we put it out we get SUED."

The song, which also features Rick Ross, is the first track to be lifted from Monica's new project, 'New Life', which is due out on October 18th.

Roc Nation's J Cole paid tribute to Tupac and Biggie during his performance at Bonnaroo.

The rapper performed Tupac's classic 'I Ain't Mad At Cha' and 'Higher' taken from his mixtape 'Friday Night Lights' which uses the same sample as Big's 'Big Poppa'.

NEWS: New Leads Found In Investigation Over B.I.G's Murder

The death of Biggie Smalls, aka B.I.G aka Christopher Wallace still hasn't been solved, but some new leads into the investigation over his death have been found.

 The 13-year-old case was recently "reinvigorated" after some new information was brought forward according to a law enforcerment source, which includes the LAPD, LA County District Attorney's Office and the FBI.

A retired LAPD detective told CNN that he still believes that Suge Knight is responsible for Biggie's death, even though he was in prison at the time:

"Suge Knight ordered the hit," Poole said, adding that he believes it was arranged by Reggie Wright Jr., who headed security for Death Row Records.

Reggie Wright Jr. told CNN he had nothing to do with the murder, and Knight has repeatedly said he had nothing to do with the crime. Poole said he retired early from the LAPD, in part, because he was thwarted in following leads in the Wallace case involving police officers, some of whom worked off-duty for Death Row Records.

"I think I was getting too close to the truth," Poole said. "I think they feared that the truth would be a scandal."

Remembering B.I.G.

Today marks thirteen years since Christopher 'Notorious B.I.G./Biggie Smalls' Wallace passed away after being shot in a drive-by shooting in whilst in Los Angeles.

Many considered Biggie to be one of the greatest lyricists and storytellers the rap game will ever see. In his short career Biggie released two multi-platinum albums that spawned hits and party favourites such as- 'Juicy', 'Big Poppa', 'Mo Money Mo Problems' and countless others.

Biggie's career started with a mixtape he made after his release from prison for drug related offences. This tape made it in to the hands of DJ Mister Cee and the editor of The original Source magazine who decided to feature Big in the Unsigned Hype column of the mag. The tape was then heard by a young Sean Combs who at the time was an A&R at Uptown records. He then signed Big and put him on the record 'A Buncha N*ggas' on Heavy D's album.

In 1992, Combs was fired from Uptown records and began his own imprint Bad Boy Records and took B.I.G. with him and the rest as they say is history! He then appeared on tracks with Mary J Blige and Supercat as he began his rise to stardom.

Ready To Die was released on September 13, 1994, and reached #13 on the Billboard 200 chart, eventually being certified four times Platinum.

During his career Biggie had many accomplishments-

• Rap artist of the year, 1995 (Billboard)
• Rap single of the year 'One More Chance', 1995 (Billboard)
• New artist of the year, best lyricist, best album, live performer of the year, 1995 (Source awards)
• Best video- Hypnotize, 1997 (MTV)
• Best soul/rnb male album- Life After Death, 1998 (Soul Train)

On March 9th, 1997 Biggie and his entourage had just left an afterparty thrown by Vibe magazine & Qwest records when a car pulled alongside him and fired numerous shots hitting the MC in the chest. Biggie was then driven to Cedars Senai hospital, but was pronounced dead at 1.15am.

Fifteen days after his death, Biggie's double cd album, 'Life After Death' was released and would eventually hit the number one after an initial #176 position due to leaking. In 2000 the album would be certified Diamond, the highest certification ever given to a rap album.

The Notoripus B.I.G. will forever live on through his music and those were and still are influenced by him.

He is survived by daughter T'yanna and son Christopher.
