NEWS: 2011 Grammy Nominations

Yesterday the 53rd annual Grammy nominations were revealed at the Nokia Centre in LA. Rapper Eminem is up for a whopping 10 awards with newcomer Bruno Mars up for seven awards. Other acts to receive multiple nominees include Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and B.o.B.

Winners will be announced at the live awards ceremony, which will take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13, 2011.

NEWS: Jay-Z Leads BET's Hip Hop Awards Nominations With 10 Nods, Breaking History

Jay-Z has broken BET's Hip Hop Awards history by being nominated a staggering ten times in eight categories!

Young Money's Drake follows behind the Jigga Man with eight nominations alongside Nicki Minaj who's up for seven nominations.

This year's BET Hip Hop Awards will take place on October 2nd at Atlanta's Boisfeuillet Jones Civic Centre and will be hosted by comedian/actor Mike Epps.

NEWS: MOBOs Nominees Announced

Last night Social Writers were in attendance for the MOBO Award's nominations launch which were held at the plush Mayfair Hotel in London.

Faces from the music world such as Ironik, N-Dubz, DJ Masterstepz, Tinie Tempah and Tim Westwood were in attendance to hear who has been nominated for this year's awards.

Reggie Yates was host for the night again, and will be at the show itself, and comedian Kojo performed.

Tinie Tempah leads this year's nominations for the 15th MOBO Awards with four nominations for 'Best Newcomer', 'Best UK Act', 'Best Video' and 'Best Song' for his #1 hit, 'Pass Out'.

The MOBO Awards 2010 will take place October 20th in Liverpool.

NEWS: MTV VMAs 2010 Nominees Announced

The nominees for this years MTV VMAs have been announced. Lady Gaga has been nominated for an amazing 13 awards for her music videos for 'Video Phone', 'Telephone' and 'Bad Romance', including Best Female Video, Video of The Year and Best Collaboration.

Newcomer B.o.B has notched up five nominations for his two music videos for 'Airplanes' and 'Nothing On You' including 'Best Hip Hop Video' and 'Video Of The Year'.

The shortlist for the Shockwaves NME Awards 2010 were announced last night at The Tabernacle. Dizzee Rascal, Florence + The Machine, Kings Of Leon and La Roux are amongst the nominees.

Jay-Z is up for Best Live Event for his concert at Alexandra Palace (click here for our review), his wife Beyonce is up for Hero Of The Year award, whilst Rihanna and Lady Gaga are up for Hottest Woman award. Gaga is also up for Best Dressed and Worst Dressed awards, Vilain Of The Year award, alongside Simon Cowell and Kanye West, as well as Best Dancefloor filler for her track 'Poker Face'.

NEWS: Brit Awards 2010 Nominations

Last night the Brit Awards 2010 Nominations were revealed at London's Indigo2.

JLS, Florence + The Machine, Lady Gaga, and Pixie Lott are all up for three gongs each.

Surprisingly Beyonce was not nominated in the category for International Female Solo Artist, but her husband, Jay-Z has been nominated for two awards; International Male Solo Artist and International Album.

Jay-Z will also be performing at The Brit Awards, (rumour has it Alicia Keys will join him on stage), as well as performances from Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Kasabian, Cheryl Cole, JLS and Dizzee Rascal and Florence + The Machine, who'll be performing a mash up of their latest singles. Robbie Williams,will also perform as he'll be receiving the Outstanding Contribution To Music award.
