VIDEO: Chipmunk Joins Forces With Nokia To Encourage Literacy

Chipmunk and Horrible Histories author, Terry Deary, have launched a new novel written entirely on a Nokia E6 mobile phone to help encourage young people to get reading as recent figures show that one in three children do not own a book.

Entitled the 'The Perfect Poison Pills Plot', the story was penned by one of Britain's best-selling authors of the 21st century, Terry Deary and brilliantly narrated by Chipmunk in a special video available to view on bit.ly/NokiaShortStories

Chipmunk said: “I’m used to writing my own lyrics but it was great to be in front of the camera, speaking to kids who may not necessarily reach for a physical book to kick back to. Terry’s an inspiring man to work with and I hope together we can encourage more young people to read through 'The Perfect Poison Pills Plot'.”

The short film 'The Commuter', starring Pamela Anderson, Dev Patel, Ed Westwick and Charles Dance was shot entirely in HD using the new Nokia N8 handset.

Nokia Skate Almighty 2009

For those of you who love to skate...this one's for you!

Nokia Skate Almighty is back this August with a free, huge, outdoor rink, with a host of DJ's and musical acts peforming such as Little Boots and Calvin Harris. This all takes place from Wednesday 5th August till Sunday 9th August 2009, at Potter's Field, near London's Tower Bridge.

The rink is open to children and families during the day, but after 6pm the rink is for over 18's only.

To get skating, you simply need to visit www.nokiamusic.co.uk to secure a free ticket for a one hour time slot. Entry will be via mobile ticket and you will also receive a free Nokia Music Store voucher and pin code, which allows you to download free tracks off of the store. Nice huh?
